Biography

Todd W. Eddins joined the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court as an Associate Justice on December 11, 2020.

Prior to his appointment, he served as a judge for the Circuit Court of the First Circuit beginning in April 2017.
Before joining the bench, Justice Eddins worked in private practice, concentrating on criminal, civil, and appellate litigation. He represented individuals in some of Hawaiʻi’s most high-profile and complex cases and served as lead counsel in 125 jury trials. He is also a former public defender and previously served as a law clerk to Justice Yoshimi Hayashi of the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court.

Justice Eddins earned his law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the William & Mary.
