Biography

Richard W. Pollack served as an associate justice of the Hawai‘i Supreme Court from 2012 to June 30, 2020. Prior to his appointment, he was a circuit court judge for 12 years in the O’ahu First Circuit presiding over civil and criminal court matters. From 1987 to 2000, Pollack was the Hawai‘i state public defender. Previously, he worked for 7 years as a deputy public defender in the trial and appellate divisions.
