Biography
Kari Malia Carolan joined the William S. Richardson School of Law in 2019 as the Assistant Director of the Evening Part-Time Program and Academic Success. She currently serves as the Director of Online Legal Education and Part-Time Programming, where she has been a steward in transitioning the in-person Evening Part-Time Program to the fully online Hawaiʻi Online JD Program, which welcomed its inaugural cohort in the fall of 2023.
Director Carolan holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and Women’s Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where her scholarship focused on the intersections of colonialism, indigeneity, gender, and law. She also holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) with a focus in Mental Health Counseling from Chaminade University of Honolulu. She believes in the transformative power of education and is dedicated to supporting student learning through her various administrative and academic roles.
