Biography

Aamir Abdullah is a Reference and Instructional Services Librarian at The University of Hawaiʻi School of Law Library at the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Prior to this position Professor Abdullah worked at the William A. Wise Law Library at the University of Colorado Law School at Boulder, Colorado. During his time at Colorado Law, he held the titles of Law Library Fellow (2020-2021), Student Services & Outreach Law Librarian (2021-2022), and Instructional Services & Research Law Librarian (2022-2024). As a Reference & Instructional Services Librarian (2024-present), Professor Abdullah provides instruction for various legal research courses, including the mandatory 1L Legal Research & Analysis course. He also provides one-off presentations, provides reference services, and works on various initiatives that are promulgated by the Law Library. 

Prior to becoming a law librarian, Professor Abdullah practiced law for five years in the state of Texas where he handled both state and federal cases. He is currently licensed to practice law in the states of Texas and Colorado. He is passionate about access to justice and the intersection of law & technology. He writes on various topics concerning AI, professionalism, and FCIL legal research. Outside of work, his interests include hiking, technology, and yoga.
