Application Fee Waivers

Financial Need

The LSAC waives its fees for applicants who are absolutely unable to pay for the LSAT and other essential applicant services. See LSAC Fee Waiver [www.lsac.org]. If you have already received an LSAC Fee Waiver, you may email us a copy of your letter and we will waive our application fee for you. You must receive the LSAC fee waiver before you transmit the electronic application through LSAC. We cannot refund application fees you have already paid.

Service Recognition

To apply for a service recognition fee waiver, please fill out the Service Recognition Fee Waiver Form [accounts.google.com]. See below for criteria.We will waive the application fee for members of the following groups:

  • U.S. military veterans and service members (Participation in a foreign country’s military does not qualify an applicant for a fee waiver.);
  • Peace Corps members and alumni;
  • AmeriCorps members and alumni;
  • City Year members and alumni;
  • Teach For America corps members and alumni;
  • Truman Scholars;
  • Persons who have served or are currently serving under-served communities through another established public service organization or volunteer program;
  • Persons who have engaged or are currently engaged in volunteer activities and/or employment manifesting a strong commitment to social justice, the public interest, and service to legally and economically disadvantaged communities.

You must receive this service recognition fee waiver before you transmit the electronic application through LSAC. We cannot refund application fees you have already paid. To apply for a service recognition fee waiver, please fill out the Service Recognition Fee Waiver Form [accounts.google.com].

Merit

We do not grant merit-based fee waivers or fee-waivers based on your LSAT score or GPA.

Other Law Schools

For information about application fee waivers at other law schools, please see fee waiver information from 200 law school websites [docs.google.com]. We compiled this information for the UH Mānoa Pre-Law Advising Center [manoa.hawaii.edu]. This is not a definitive list: Please contact individual law schools for the most accurate information.
