Externship Program
Also called “field placements,” externships provide students the opportunity to earn academic credit working as novice attorneys at legal offices across the country. As externs, students are placed in courts, nonprofits, governmental agencies, firms, and other legal institutions and organizations and perform lawyering tasks under the supervision of an attorney and a Law School faculty member. While externing, students take an accompanying seminar designed to maximize their learning experience.
Our students have externed in a variety of offices. Students interested in an externship should read this FAQ. Offices interested in sponsoring externs should read this FAQ.
